Earth Love 101

This year marks a special milestone, as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22nd. Though most people have heard of Earth Day, many are unaware of what it truly represents, and how each individuals actions can impact our Earth.

Here at the University of Albany, we are hoping to change that. Our office of Environmental Sustainability, assisted by Student Sustainability Council members, Task Force members, faculty and staff, and local patrons, will host this year’s Earth Love 101.  Taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Campus Center, this interactive day will feature a Clothing and Purse Swap, Farmer’s Market, Student Performances and Exhibitors Forum, and a performance of “Sustainability, the Musical” by St. Rose student performers.  The day will end with a Panel Forum on the Year in Environmental Sustainability, featuring Professor Steven Leibo, personally trained by former Vice President Al Gore to give updates on climate change, and Professor John Delano, a student favorite with expertise in renewable energy, solar power, and environmental science.

This event is free and open to the public, and is a great opportunity to learn more about sustainable practices, energy, environmental issues, and much more.
